Yes, Simon, you and lauriek are both quite right - zonaria, a female.

Much more chestnut than the confusion species, inanis, most importantly on tergite 2 (the top visible band on the abdomen, which is yellow in inanis) and on the top of the thorax (lots of black in female inanis). Some males are not so straightforward, at least in a view from above.

The learning doesn't seem to stop curving...but it's fun!
