Another one I can't see in the gallery. Could this be a variation of Balteatus, size is about the same
Again pictured at Eastern Drove, off Claverham Drove North Somerset in late August.
Also how do I post pics to the site?

Hi Ben,
It looks like Sphaerophoria rueppellii to me! Shocked
you can see a picture of it in Alan Stubbs & Steve Falks
Hoverfly book, plate 4, figure 20.
All the best, Mick

Hi Mick,
Thanks for the info, I am following it up by hunting via Google.
It will be very interesting if that is it, because it has been located only once before in Somerset.
E.T. & D.A. Levy 1998 page 33.
That was at Hambridge in South Somerset.
I have looked at a post of Philporter of 8th October and it seems to be a different fly.
I have attached a spot image of my fly to this edit. [later]
I have put two images back to back right side one from teh Google website hunt.
I think it is pretty certain this is it. I found it on :-- popgen.unimaas.nl/~jlindsey/commanster/Insects/Flies/SpFlies/Sphaerophoria.interrupta.html -
