Being a total newcomer, please help on this ID.
About 5cms long, long proboscis taking nectar from bizzie lizzies, two long 'feelers' either side of head. Wings to forward of body. Flitting from flower to flower. Seemingly light in colour. Reminded me very much of that beautiful bird in the East that hovers taking nectar.

Please excuse amateurish attempts at description but it was such a sight I was overcome with surprise!!!
Tim

Most good moth books will confirm this for you,
All the best, Mick.
