Had a specimen today which is clearly Parhelophilus frutetorum (male) as it has the projection on the hind femora. However, it has two dark bands on the hind tibia, and thus keys out to Anasimyia in the generic key in Stubbs and Falk 2002 (couplet 6 page 139) at first glance (although the sternite character does separate them correctly).

Hi Matin

These colour forms are not wholly unusual - a problem for the novice but ok for those with experience.

Will look into alternatives for any future revision

Regards
