Hi All,
I have just received a photograph taken in someone's garden very close to where I live in Shrewsbury. The photo is of a splendid female Volucella zonaria on ivy. Looking at the distribution map on this site it looks like this is a first VC40 record for the species. Great news - and I am staying in my garden tomorrow watching the ivy!
Very Happy

Hi Nigel,
I live in Wolverhampton, but work in Shifnal, and regularly go out and about around the Telford area in my lunchtimes, so I shall be looking out for that V.zonaria coming my way! Very Happy
Jez
