Hi Simon,

Is a male Chrysotoxum festivum Smile
The femora look dark at the base and the abdominal bars are a bit straight which would both point more towards C. vernale but other features such as wing coloration being brown on inner front half and the yellow spot on the side of the thorax indicate C. festivum.

Nice find!
